Achieving Happiness through Love and Compassion

Every moment of our lives, even while we're dreaming, we're wishing to be happy and free from problems but we haven't yet figured out how to make this happen. We keep thinking that the way to fulfill these two wishes is to put ourselves first while neglecting the happiness and freedom of others. According to Buddha this self-centered perspective is the very source of all of our problems and it's preventing us from enjoying the happiness that comes from a loving, compassionate heart. In this series we will train in a sequence of meditations intended to help us let go of our painful self-centered tendencies and to increase our love and compassion, the causes of happiness and enlightenment.

June 13 Identifying the Source of our Problems
June 20 Discovering the Source of our Happiness
June 27 Letting Go of Unhappiness and Pain
July 4 No Class
July 11 Developing a Compassionate Heart

The Healing Power of Meditation

In this series we will explore the healing benefits of meditation and learn a special healing practice known as "Taking and Giving". By combining this practice with simple breathing meditation we can improve our health and state of mind. This practice also increases our power and ability to help others in the most beneficial way.
July 18 Meditation on Taking
July 25 Meditation on Giving

No Fear - Following the Buddhist Way of Life
with simone barker

Our lives are characterized by insecurity, and we make decisions out of fear, preventing us from actualizing our potential and experiencing the full meaning of our lives. In this course, the teacher will explain how through taking Buddha's meditations and teachings to heart we can face our fears and transform them into powerful inspiration. By connecting to our own potential for attaining the fearless heart of a Buddha, our life becomes a deeply fulfilling spiritual path.

August 1 Transforming Fear
August 8 Developing Trust through Wisdom
August 15 The Fearlessness of Buddha
August 22 The Buddhist Way of Life Part 1
August 29 The Buddhist Way of Life Part 2

Classes are suitable for beginners and experienced alike.
Everyone welcome.
